The Healthy Families Program is prevention oriented, strengths-based, and free and voluntary. The core of Healthy Families is our home visitation service. A trained Family Support Worker can meet with the family in the home weekly. We offer services to the family until the target child is five years old.

Family Support Workers offer:

    • Relationship
    • Friendly support
    • Information about child development and parenting Ideas
    • Support in maintaining baby's immunizations and locating a medical home
    • Child Development Screenings
    • Assistance to families in accomplishing their own goals
    • Information about community resources
    • Encouragement for parents in completing their education and obtaining employment
Who We Can Assess For Services:
Our target population for services is teenaged parents in the South Dallas, Oak Cliff and Pleasant Grove areas who are:
    • First time parents, aged up to 19 years old
    • Pregnant, or baby under 2 weeks old
    • Living in ZIP codes 75210, 75215, 75216, 75217, 75224, 75227, 75232 or 75241
How Our Services Are Accessed:
New parents can be referred from other agencies or through personal inquiries. Our Family Assessment Worker contacts the family and sets up a time to meet for an initial assessment. Next, a Family Support Worker is assigned to those families who would benefit most from our services.
